For best results when photographing through glass you'll want to find the area that is least marred with fingerprints and imperfections. Then you'll want to press the lens hood right up against the glass (Also, be sure to wear dark clothes!), that way you'll get the least amount of glare and reflections. And if you ever want to go to the San Diego Zoo, let me know, I'm always happy to tag along :)
